Schubas is an analog photo booth located in Chicago, IL, United States. This nice rounded-end Model 14 black and white photobooth sits (where else?) next to the Golden Tee game at the end of the bar before the entrance to the performance space of this well-known music venue. Schubas itself, a 1903 building built by the Schlitz Brewing Co., is a restored treasure with full bar, restaurant, and music hall. The evening I stopped by, the photos from Schubas' booth came out with the back fairly coated in dirty residue and the front somewhat flecked with dirt as well. An uneven edge on each photo was also visible, as well as a light streak down all four photos, but otherwise, the contrast and tonal range of the photos was terrific. UPDATE 3/2/12: Taylor Anne used the booth and reported the booth was working fine. UPDATE 7/6/13: Nikki writes that the booth is in fine working order. UPDATE 11/6/16: Andrew writes with the sad news that the Schuba's booth has been replaced by a digital machine. Contributed by Brian, Taylor Anne, Nikki, Andrew Kropp.

The cost to use Schubas is $3.00 per photo strip. This booth accepts cash only.
