Prague's photobooth scene is small, walkable and almost entirely analog. Most of the machines were installed by Fotoautomat, the operator that restores vintage chemical booths in Berlin, Paris and Prague. They shoot black-and-white film and develop the strip inside the cabinet while you wait. Locals call the machine a fotoautomat. Unlike cities where booths live in late-night bars, most of Prague's stand in public places: a shopping passage on Vodičkova, the National Theatre, the main railway station, a cinema, a modern art museum and an architecture centre. That means most of them can be used in daytime, with no drink order required. The listings cluster at about nine venues across three districts: Nové Město (New Town) in the centre, Holešovice across the river to the north, and Karlín to the east.
